POSITION: Line Cooks

Looking for energetic and focused Line Cooks to be part of the Estrellita Mexican restaurant team.

Essential Job Duties & Minimum Qualifications:
* Must have previous experience as Line/Prep Cook, a minimum of 1 year, in a fine dining or casual setting in the restaurant industry.
* Must have open availability including weekends and holidays (7 days a week/ Lunch shifts).
* Fast and flexible learner who can follow new recipes and is able to produce and prepare food according to changing menus.
* Have a thorough detailed knowledge of the menu, daily specials, ingredients, food preparation and prices. Knowledge of Mexican food is a plus!
* Assist other cooks as needed in production and service, including catering and “a la carta” production.
* Must be technically strong and have a high level of execution with an eye for detail and present finished dishes in a timely manner.
* Have a deep respect for produce/protein and it should show in handling and preparing.
* Good knife skills required.
* Friendly and creative with lots of ideas to contribute.
* Hard working and able to multi-task and manage time effectively, with minimum supervision in a fast paced food service environment.
* Ensure efficient and proper set-up of assigned station by time of service.
* Good communication skills and leadership abilities. Ability to communicate effectively in English with management and team members.
* Maintain proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards. Responsible for keeping production kitchen clean and sanitary during shift.
* Responsible for completing daily checklists accurately in accordance with Estrellita’s training.
* Maintain personal grooming, hygiene and clean standards in accordance with Estrellita’s Health Practice Standards.
* Practice and observe safety rules and regulations and encourage others to do so.
* Adhere to all Estrellita’s training, policies and procedures.

BONUS SKILLS:
* Bilingual (English/Spanish).
* Have a valid California Food Handler’s License is a plus!
* Weekends and holiday availability preferred.
* Experience cooking for events in a catering/banquet environment.
